The adidas Fear of God Athletics I Basketball Carbon Sesame continues the evolving partnership between adidas and Fear of God. Designed by Jerry Lorenzo, this hybrid basketball silhouette reflects his signature minimalist approach and preference for muted, elevated tones.

The upper combines breathable knit and a supportive neoprene collar in deep Carbon, creating a sleek, sock-like fit. Off-white Sesame wraps the sculpted toe cap and exaggerated rubber outsole, adding contrast while maintaining the understated palette. Along the side panels, adidas’ iconic 3-Stripes appear in a translucent, plastic-like material that doubles as a functional lace cage, securing durable Carbon laces and blending branding with structure.

Subtlety defines this design. Outside of the integrated 3-Stripes, branding is limited to a small “fear of god” patch on the heel, reinforcing the clean aesthetic. Released on December 3, 2023, with a retail price of $250, the Carbon Sesame edition stands out for its balance of performance intent, architectural design, and restrained luxury.
